Are you ready to discover the wonderful world of photography?
In this course you will gain an insight into using photography as a tool for creative expression, learn how to think critically about your own work and the work of others, expand your knowledge of contemporary artists worldwide working in the field of photography, and develop your camera skills and techniques, all while practising English.
Experimenting is key!
No fancy cameras needed. Whether you're fresh faced (and wild eyed) in the world of photography and perhaps using your mobile phone to take photos, or you already know the basics and are ready to get more creative with your equipment, this course has plenty to offer. So get ready for fun exercises and surprising projects exploring photography in my new class.
See you there!
Jeremy is a British artist and arts educator based in Berlin.
Over the last four years Jeremy has worked in education through the arts between Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and has currently taught in over 30 schools across Germany from Grundschule to Gymnasium. Jeremy also continues to work independently in Berlin as a professional freelance photographer and visual artist – typically creating visual content for a range of clients in the creative industry, but also delivering workshops across the city and sharing his passion for the arts with both children and adults as a volunteer. Jeremy's editorial work has been published by Noisey Magazine (VICE), Kaltblut Magazine and FLUR Magazine and his clients include HUMANA, Sasha Louise Latex, LaLa Berlin and Berlin designer Wilda Wolf.
Jeremy regularly exhibits his photographic and installation work between institutions in Berlin and London, and his work has also been included in group shows in China and the USA. He is represented by DegreeArt, an online art gallery based in the UK. In 2018 Jeremy was shortlisted for BLOOOM Award. In 2019 he was shortlisted for the Signature Art Prize in London and later selected for an annual artist residency at Green Hill Gallery, Berlin. Earlier this year Jeremy was shortlisted for the Verzasca Foto Awards in Switzerland and more recently selected to participate in a new collaborative project in Berlin titled ‘Neukölln Stories’, which will culminate in an exhibition in November at LiTE-HAUS Galerie, Berlin. Jeremy’s work is presented this year in ‘Fresh Eyes’, published by GUP Magazine in the Netherlands - a book of one hundred emerging photographers in Europe. Jeremy will publish the first book edition of his photography later this year with Replika Publishing (Berlin).
