Über Faith
I recently completed my training as a dyslexia/learning specialist in the USA (2020), during which time I taught at an elementary school and worked with dyslexic students as a classroom teacher. During my training and work at this school, I have learned to teach English in writing to students with special needs and learning disabilities. For this purpose, I draw on a range of scientific linguistic methodologies.
Using a multi-sensory approach that incorporates all five sensory pathways in the classroom, these students made significant progress.
I have a Master's degree in American Studies and a Bachelor's degree in English Pedagogy. I have been a certified TEFL and TEYL teacher since 2017, but have taught English as a second language before that. I am committed to constantly improving my teaching skills by taking professional development courses.
Being multilingual myself, I know how challenging it can be to learn a foreign language and how important a pleasant and welcoming learning environment can contribute to a successful outcome. This is my goal as a teacher.

As a dyslexia/learning specialist, I employ the multisensory approach/philosophy to teaching. This aims at achieving a significant amount of progress within a short period of time, through the use of different sensory pathways (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, tactile). I strongly believe out of my own experience, that this is a suitable teaching approach that would be most beneficial to my students. Starting off with need analysis in order to acquaint me with my learner, I strive to vary my teaching styles/approaches to meet the learning needs of individual learners. I engage my students using fun activities such as games, videos, music, and hands-on learning to elicit student's involvement.
