Über Roxanna
Hi there, I'm a conservatory trained piano and vocal teacher and I teach contemporary and classical music. I love teaching and helping my students grow their skills to achieve their goals.
I teach in a holistic way, taking into account the tastes and preferences of my students, ensuring rigorous foundational technique from the beginning, as well as good use of the body while playing or singing.
My lessons are varied in pace for differing ages, and for younger students I make sure to include a variety of different activities to encourage general musicianship and creativity, as well as activities to encourage body awareness while playing or singing.

Over my 20 years of experience teaching, I have worked with a diverse range of students, from young children to adults with varying interests in musical style.
In teaching piano and voice with younger students, I incorporate rigorous foundational technique from the beginning, along with general musicianship, but I also stay responsive to the musical tastes of the student and include adaptations of popular music that children like to hear and play. I also include activities that engage their creativity and imagination to help inspire them and allow them the opportunity to develop their own creativity.
With young adults and adults, I ensure foundational technique is in place and work collaboratively to develop a learning curriculum that takes into account their musical tastes and goals. I also work with body awareness to help ensure comfort and avoid injury, as well as including good use of physicality to aid expression and feel grounded while playing and performing.
