Hello, I’m Ajaya, an experienced international Physics and Mathematics educator with more than 16 years of teaching experience across Cambridge and IB-aligned programmes.
I specialise in helping students understand challenging concepts clearly and confidently. My lessons are designed not simply to prepare students for examinations, but to develop the deeper thinking, problem-solving skills, and scientific and mathematical reasoning that allow them to succeed beyond the classroom.
I have taught students across different age groups, abilities, and educational backgrounds, including learners preparing for **Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS & A Level, and IB Diploma Programme** courses.
My teaching style is patient, structured, interactive, and personalised. I first identify what a student already understands and where the difficulties lie. From there, I build knowledge step by step using clear explanations, visual representations, practical examples, guided problem-solving, and carefully chosen questions.
For Physics, I focus on helping students see the connection between mathematical models and the physical world. For Mathematics, I emphasise logical reasoning, conceptual understanding, and the ability to approach unfamiliar problems with confidence.
I believe every student can make meaningful progress when they are given the right explanation, the right level of challenge, and the right encouragement. I create a supportive learning environment where students can ask questions freely, make mistakes without fear, and gradually become independent learners.

My Teaching Approach
I believe effective teaching is not simply about delivering information. It is about helping students understand "why something works, how ideas connect, and how knowledge can be applied to real situations".
My teaching is student-centred, inquiry-based, and concept-driven. I encourage students to ask questions, challenge assumptions, explain their thinking, and learn from mistakes. Rather than relying on Memorisation alone, I use real-world examples, demonstrations, problem-solving, visual models, simulations, and practical applications to make abstract concepts meaningful.
Typical Lesson Structure
A typical lesson follows a clear but flexible structure:
Engage: Begin with a question, phenomenon, problem, or real-life situation that stimulates curiosity.
Explore: Give students opportunities to investigate ideas, make predictions, analyse evidence, or attempt problems independently.
Explain: Develop the underlying concepts through clear explanations, questioning, worked examples, demonstrations, and visual representations.
Apply: Students use their understanding to solve increasingly challenging problems or apply concepts to unfamiliar situations.
Reflect: We review what has been learned, identify misconceptions, and consider how the knowledge connects to broader ideas.
I adapt the pace and depth of each lesson according to the student's prior knowledge, learning needs, confidence, and goals.
What Makes My Teaching Different
As a Physics and Mathematics educator with extensive international teaching and leadership experience, I focus strongly on "deep understanding rather than rote learning". I aim to make difficult concepts feel logical, accessible, and intellectually exciting.
I use questioning strategically to uncover how students are thinking, identify misconceptions, and develop higher-order thinking. I also integrate technology, simulations, STEM activities, robotics, and appropriate AI tools where they genuinely enhance learning.
My goal is to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, curious enough to ask difficult questions, and confident enough to solve problems independently.
