MY EXPERIENCE
I am a native speaker of Standard-German (dialect-free) with 8 years of tutoring and teaching experience at all levels, with English speakers as well as with students who neither had knowledge of English nor German (so, non-English speakers are welcomed as well).
I have teaching experience with all age classes, different levels,
in language schools with large classes and non-English speakers, as well as highly individual classes online and face-to-face classes.
Three years ago I started to professionally work as a translator, transcriber and proofreader for German with two companies as well as on freelance basis.
I am currently doing a DaF-course to progress specifically my teaching competence.
I will soon graduate as a Spanish German translator.
I got trained not only in German grammar and orthography,
but also its cultural, social and historical context as well as
in German politics, literature, music, arts, society and more,
which will be part of my teaching to give a holistic and wider
understanding of the language and the environment
in which it emerged and is used.
I also did a course in creative writing (German) and publish in German, which gave/give me yet another insight and practice of the langauge from a different perspective.
MY TEACHING
I would love to share my passion and experience in learning
and teaching languages.
I'd love to help you learn and improve my native language,
(which increasingly becomes important and popular in the world)
in a fun, creative, diversified, modern and highly efficient way
and help you to get access to the possibilities the mastering of this language can offer you.
As a learner of various, quite different languages I am aware of the difficulties and specific issues of learning a foreign language.
However, my long-lasting experience with languages of different kinds and within those in different facets also equipped me with the right solutions, best tools and learning and teaching technics to overcome these barriers.
My classes are individual, have space for specific wishes from students sides, are patient and not only include various media, such as videos, movies, podcasts..., but also cover (depending on preference more or less) the cultural and social context of each language, as well as history, politics and more to get a holistic understanding of the language and the environment in which it was born and is used.
