Über Tijana
I am a professional translator, interpreter and language teacher with over 15 years of experience. My native language is Serbian. I have a BA degree in the English language and literature from the Faculty of Philology of Belgrade University, Serbia, and a MA degree in translation and interpreting from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, for the languages English and Spanish. I have been working since the beginning of my career as a translator and interpreter at the government of the Republic of Serbia and I have also been teaching foreign languages, including Serbian, to various types of students.

My teaching method largely depends on the needs of the student, but I make a point of my students being able to communicate in Serbian from the outset. I follow the standard methodology for developing the four essential skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing, but I also introduce the vocabulary for everyday situations so that my students can feel comfortable speaking Serbian, and not be fearful that they might make a mistake. I also pinpoint the student's weak parts and work on them more. Also, since I speak English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese apart from my native Serbian and I am currently learning German, it is easier for me to communicate with students from various countries in their mother tongue.
