Über Lisha
There is an annual language competition among school students, including middle school and high school, which examine the ancients and contemporary poems, mandarin, ancient articles and modern articles, history of ancient poet and contemporary writers. Participants have to compete with all school students nationally, only a few who perform well can be awarded a prize and corresponding certificate. I participated the Chinese culture and language competition triple times in my school time, and all got the prize. In my bachelor, my first major was Chinese Language and Literature due to good performance in the subject of Chinese in the admission exam. Even I changed my major later, the interest and ability continue because I have been reading articles and write a diary regularly. Especially I wrote poems when there is an inspiration. I am seeking a job now, on the side, it would be my pleasure to teach mandarin and talk about Chinese culture with people who are interested in Chinese.

I have ever served as a voluntary Chinese teacher in the village during the semester break of my bachelor. I taught the sixth-grader in a primary school in Guizhou province by the following methods. For oral expression, I would advise beginners to practice and speak loudly in the morning or sometimes daily, the material could be simple dialogue or a short story. And an article would be better for an advanced speaker. For writing, I prefer to ask students to follow a similar style of article examples and then outline their own idea. For reading, I would recommend some books or magazines, depending on the needs and interests. For listening, the videos would be dynamic and funny which helps for concentration. This teaching style worked for my students appropriately and they continued studying with me for some time after the end of this voluntary activity. In addition, they like my funny teaching methods especially when I asked them to show a poem plot on stage individually, they participated actively and excitedly. I wish I could reflect on my teaching style and methods here as well.
