Über Jessie
Jessie Monk is a Singer Songwriter, Music Theatre Performer, Voice Coach and Alexander Technique teacher with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Australia's Leading Conservatorium; The Victorian College of the Arts.
Jessie has been teaching voice for the last eight years, with students from a variety of backgrounds, experience level, ages and demographics.
Jessie's classes are creative and enlivening, working a lot with the physical body. Her approach allows one's voice more freedom to find it's ease, beauty and innate qualities and capabilities, as well as streatching those capabilities, offering her students an enhanced awareness of their own voice, and how they can most efficiently use it. This is achieved through, and supported by her detailed and precise anatomical knowledge of the voice and all of the physical systems relating to it, blended with a creative and numinous access to vocal states through imagery and ideas.
Students leave her classes feeling inspired, physically aligned and empowered by the knowledge and autonomy to refind pathways to easeful and magnificent singing.

What We Might Develop Together:
- An anotomical understanding of the voice and it's structure and functionlity
- An awareness of ones own 'attractor state' (the place where one instinctively sings and/ or speaks from) and working to allow ease and freedom from tension in this space
- An understanding of the interplay between the voice and the body (in particular focusing on phsyical alignment and neural mapping) to release tension and allow for more easeful singing.
- Working stylistically with repotouire in styles inc folk, jazz, pop, music theatre, legit (light opera) and other contemporary styles
