I am a Potsdam-based Climate Researcher with over four years of experience delivering sustainability projects across Europe, Africa, and the MENA region. My expertise lies at the unique intersection of climate economics and geospatial analysis, a niche that allows me to transform complex environmental data into clear, actionable visual insights. I believe that the best way to learn GIS is by solving real-world spatial problems. My lessons are conducted entirely in English and delivered online via video conferencing, using screen-sharing to provide a "follow-me" learning experience.
My Teaching Techniques:
I bridge the gap between complex geographical theory and practical software application. I focus on:
1) Visual Learning: Using diagrams to explain Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS) and topology.
2) The "Clean Data" Philosophy: Teaching you not just how to use tools, but how to manage data so it doesn't break.
3) Workflow Automation: Leveraging my background in Python to show you how to work smarter, not harder.
Typical Lesson Structure (60 Minutes)
- 00-10 mins: Concept introduction and/or Review of previous tasks.
- 10-30 mins: Live demonstration & "Follow-along" exercise.
- 30-35 mins: 5-minute break and possibly, time to prepare questions.
- 35-50 mins: Live demonstration & "Follow-along" exercise.
- 50-60 mins: Interactive Q&A and summary of the day’s lesson.
Course Duration
To cover the full curriculum (from Installation to Spatial Analysis and Map Production), I recommend a 12-session program. This allows us to move from total beginner to a level where you can independently produce professional-grade spatial reports.
