Über Ruth
The sciences are such an applicable subject and it has often concerned me about how many students (and parents) have a negative experience of learning them, particularly Chemistry and Physics. I am passionate about making these popularly seen complicated sciences simpler for students to understand and love experiencing those lightbulb moments when students realise that they actually can do Chemistry and Physics. I enjoy watching my students not only improve their knowledge in these subjects but also develop as people as they practice transferable skills during sessions. It is important to find the most effective way to communicate knowledge to each student by understanding not only their strengths and development areas but also who they are as a person.

In a typical lesson we will explore the content with a variety of activities to improve overall understanding and then zone in on the necessary skills and keywords required for your given exam board. Designed for the individual student, we will look at areas of development whilst including the real-world applications of the science we are studying. Whilst a true understanding of science is not about studying for the test, it is important when sitting linear exams that you feel confident with the content in the context of your particular curriculum and as such each lesson will involve deciphering exam questions and technique.
