I implement an action-oriented and student-centered approach, specializing in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and Academic Writing (APA Style). My methodology is built on "Scaffolding," where I deconstruct complex linguistic and structural concepts into manageable steps. I blend academic rigor with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) to ensure that students not only master the language but also develop the confidence and emotional intelligence necessary for professional success.
Typical Lesson Structure (The 5-Step Framework)
To ensure a consistent and effective learning flow, I structure my lessons as follows:
PA – Preparing for Learning: Activating prior knowledge and conducting a socio-emotional check-in to prepare the mind for new input.
ENC – Teaching New Knowledge: Direct instruction of new concepts (grammar, technical vocabulary, or APA conventions) using clear, high-impact modeling.
PG – Guided Practice: Collaborative work where I provide immediate feedback and support as we navigate the new material together.
PI – Independent Practice: Autonomous application of the lesson, allowing students to internalize skills through targeted writing or speaking tasks.
CA – Consolidating Learning: A final synthesis and reflection on the learning objectives, ensuring all students leave with a clear understanding of their progress.
