Über Mondy
My name is Mondy (Mahyar Zarifi), and I am a pianist, composer, and music producer based in Vienna.
I studied classical music composition and jazz piano, which has given me a strong musical foundation across different styles. Over the years, I have performed live with various artists and worked extensively in the studio as a producer, composer, and arranger. Some of the projects I have worked on have reached millions of streams, and I regularly collaborate with musicians from different backgrounds.
Alongside my work as a musician and producer, I have over four years of experience teaching piano. Teaching has always been an important part of my musical life because I enjoy helping students discover their potential and develop their own musical voice.
My goal as a teacher is to make learning the piano both inspiring and practical. I focus not only on playing notes, but also on helping students understand the deeper aspects of music such as harmony, rhythm, and musical expression. This allows students to become more confident musicians and enjoy the learning process much more.
Whether you are a beginner starting your musical journey or an advanced student looking to expand your skills, I aim to create a supportive and motivating learning environment where you can grow at your own pace and develop a genuine connection with music.

My Teaching Method
My lessons are designed for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students who want to develop both their technical skills and musical understanding at the piano.
With my background in classical composition and jazz piano, I combine a strong musical foundation with a creative and modern approach to teaching. My goal is not only to teach students how to play pieces, but also to help them understand music — including harmony, rhythm, musical expression, and improvisation.
Each lesson is personalized according to the student’s goals, level, and musical interests. Depending on what you would like to focus on, we can work on:
Piano technique and musical expression
Jazz harmony and improvisation
Understanding chords, rhythm, and musical structure
Learning songs and pieces from different styles
Composition and creative musicianship
Preparing for performances or recordings
A typical lesson usually includes a combination of technique, musical concepts, and practical playing. We work on repertoire, exercises, and musical ideas that help students become more confident and expressive at the instrument.
As an active pianist, composer, and music producer with live performance and studio experience, I also share insights from the professional music world, helping students connect what they learn on the piano with real musical situations.
My aim is to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment where students can grow musically and develop their own artistic voice.
