• How is it that you speak this language fluently? Is this related to your background, or did a teacher once awaken your passion for it?

  English is my first language, and as my family is of British descent, I speak with a neutral accent easily understood by students of all ages.
  My mother has been a teacher for about 45 years, and she is passionate about education and teaching.
  
  As a result, I began teaching/coaching children when I was about 15 years old.
  I primarily helped children with autism, ADHD, and a variety of mental/physical disabilities at that time.
  
  It was a wonderfully rewarding experience helping disadvantaged children overcome their mental, physical, and psychological problems.
  This early teaching/coaching experience naturally ignited my passion for teaching and helping people.

• Name a person, whether living, historical or fictional, who best represents this culture for you!

  I was fortunate to learn the value of teaching from my mother as I grew up. She is a wonderful, incredible teacher with 45 years of experience – I still ask her for advice to this day!
  In addition, my great-grandfather was a teacher, so teaching and education run in my family.
  I observed my mother teaching her students with compassion and kindness. I have many fond memories of her having fun with her students, which has positively influenced me and my enthusiasm for teaching.
  
  I am actively looking for opportunities to expand my knowledge and teach higher-level, professional clients in all capacities.
  
  I believe each student should be treated as an individual.
  
  I always develop personalized programs for my students and clients.
  I carefully consider the important psychological aspects of the learning process for each student to encourage them to achieve success.

• Is there a word, expression, tradition or typical behavior in the language you teach that particularly impresses or amuses you?

  As the world rapidly evolves, I feel a responsibility to follow some of the positive old-fashioned principles and traditions that have added value to society as we know it.
  Quite simply, I hope to remind people, clients, and especially my younger students, that we should all treat each other as equals, with kindness, compassion, and respect. Personally, I feel impressed by some of the authentic and traditional values in society, which have become lost in the modern digital world. I hope to encourage my students and clients to appreciate such wonderful values and traditions through my teaching style and programs.

• Why do you think it is so important to master this language (be it for school/university, work or personal reasons)?

  In my opinion, English is a universal language that can potentially make a huge difference in a person's life, especially regarding education and career opportunities. Learning English provides people with a broad range of possibilities.

• What is particularly difficult about learning this language, and why is it particularly worthwhile?

  I think many students and clients lack the confidence to believe that they are capable of learning the English language. This is particularly true if they were not taught the fundamentals at a young age.
  
  Therefore, it's quite challenging to motivate them if they feel as though they are learning English too late. Many adult ESL clients have very busy lives and many responsibilities, making it difficult for them to find the time to consistently improve.
  
  
  
  On the other hand, younger ESL students battle to understand the importance of learning the fundamentals of the English language while they are at school, especially if the English educational system at their school is limited or outdated.
  
  Part of being a teacher is understanding each student’s way of thinking.
  I believe teachers should consistently improve their own psychological understanding of human behaviour and cultivate their own emotional intelligence to help students break down the learning process into a manageable and personalized program that suits their way of thinking and learning style.

• Is there an anecdote related to this language from your professional life or your school days that you would like to tell us about?

  In about 2010, I worked with a young boy who was born as a partly conjoined twin. Unfortunately, the twins had to have an operation. He survived and had extreme physical and mental disabilities.
  
  Although he was very intelligent, his limitations affected his school life because he felt different and couldn't participate in many of the school activities most children enjoy.
  
  He was a deeply unhappy little boy. Over the course of a few years, I taught him how to play sports and gently motivated him, nurturing the positive parts of his personality and talents. He became a confident, happy child who believed in himself. To this day, I feel such joy knowing I had such a positive impact on his life.

• Help us get to know you a little better and tell us a little more about your previous travels and/or stays abroad (related to the language you are teaching or in general).

  After finishing school, I studied exercise science and became a personal trainer, but after a few years, I decided to pursue a career in ESL teaching and travel around the world.
  
  In 2016, I began my ESL training at a well-established institution in Cape Town, South Africa: Cape Town TESOL Training Institute

  I successfully obtained the TESOL and TEYLT certifications in June 2016.
  
  After that, I moved to Hanoi, Vietnam, and began teaching for a well-respected, successful English centre called RES: Reliable English School

  I worked at the company from September 2016 – April 2019, teaching children and teenagers using the Cambridge educational system.
  As my position in the company improved, I began teaching Business English, as well as IELTS and TOEIC classes.
  During this time, I participated in a number of ESL courses run by the company to further improve my teaching skills and methods. (I have attached a reference letter to this email.)
  
  As a result of COVID-19, I began teaching my RES classes online using Zoom.
  Shortly after that, I started working for an online ESL company called Amazing Talker.
  
  After a few months, I moved up in the company, completed their mentorship program, and began running my own team of teachers.
  
  I have taught 3,095 lessons on Amazing Talker, and I have about 1,015 reviews from my students, with a satisfaction rate of 99.8%.
  
  My profile is still active, although I do not actively teach on the platform.

  After some time, I began to feel frustrated with the Amazing Talker platform and their system, so I decided to move away from the platform.
  
  In 2020/2021, I began teaching students privately and developing my own advanced teaching methodologies and personalized programs for my students. At present, I still have a few students, and I enjoy the process of inventing programs and developing meaningful relationships with my students.
  
  I have taught some of my students for 4–5 years, and this has taught me the value of consistent improvement and constant, engaging customisation of the programs I have developed.
  
  In addition, I am a Freelance Business English Communication Trainer for a German company called English Business.
  I occasionally cover a few classes for them, but I would prefer consistent classes.

• In short: What makes you a superprof? (in addition to successfully mastering several languages...)

  Although I'm quite happy with the few students I have, I would prefer a consistent income and the opportunity to work for a respectable online platform with an excellent reputation.
  
  I would prefer to work for a single company and be loyal and enthusiastic about my commitment. My main goal is to supplement my income with consistent, professional classes with students and clients of all ages and levels.
