Über Mylena
About Me
Hello! I’m Mylena — a passionate and experienced language teacher offering French, English, and Brazilian Portuguese lessons for all levels.
I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Languages and Translation, and I’ve worked as a professional teacher for TopEnglish in Brazil for one year, helping students reach their personal and professional goals. Many of my students have successfully used their new language skills to work with French companies or to advance their international careers.
My background is truly multicultural: I’m native in French and Brazilian Portuguese, having lived 16 years in France and 8 years in Brazil. I also spent time in Japan for an exchange program, where I volunteered as a language tutor for local students. Currently, I live in Germany and work in an international environment, using English daily at a C2 level (certified C1 on TOEIC).

I create a friendly and motivating environment where making mistakes is just part of the learning process. If you want to improve your writing, I can also give you optional homework that I correct outside of class.

How I Approach Teaching and Sharing My Knowledge
Teaching Techniques and Methods
My teaching style is interactive, personalized, and student-centered. I believe the best way to learn a language is by using it, not just studying it. In each lesson, I explain new concepts clearly and simply, but most of the talking is done by you — the student. I guide you through practical exercises, role-plays, and real-life situations to help you feel confident using the language naturally.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each class starts with a short warm-up to review what we learned previously. Then, we move on to the main topic of the day, which can include vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, or conversation practice — depending on your goals. I provide clear explanations and examples, and then you practice speaking or writing with me correcting and guiding you along the way.
If you want to improve your writing skills, I may give you homework, which I correct outside of class so we can focus our class time on speaking and training.

I adapt every class to your specific needs and motivations. Whether you’re learning for work, school, travel, or fun, I adjust the content, materials, and pace to fit your goals. I’m patient, supportive, and encouraging — I want you to feel comfortable making mistakes, because that’s how progress happens. I also make sure each class feels dynamic and motivating, so learning stays enjoyable.
