Über Julie
My name is Julie Helgeland Davidsen (b. 10.12.1995). I’m a Norwegian flutist who lives in Vienna. I have a bachelor and master degree in music performance from the Norwegian Academy of Music, including an Erasmus exchange semester from March to July 2019 at Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. After finishing my master degree, I moved to Vienna to study Certificate of Performance at die Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien with Herr Karl-Heinz Schütz as my professor, and graduated from die MUK in January 2022. The past half year I have lived partially in Wien and Bergen in Norway, as I was working in the Wind Orchestra of the Norwegian Navy. Since July 2022, I have been back in Vienna. I study a master of Cultural Management at der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien and a master of Composition, Music Theory and Arrangement at Friedrich Gulda School of Music Vienna. I can teach in Norwegian, English or German.

As a teacher, I always want my students to have goals, both short and long term goals. I think it’s important that the students can feel a development in themself to stay motivated, which makes it important for me to think creative regarding teaching methods, new ways to develop the student and goal setting. I also focus on the students’ happiness and joy which is just as important to maintain to keep them motivated. This way of thinking and working has worked out very well for me personally and also for my previous and current students. I’m also very open to adapt my teaching methods to each student’s needs and I’m not afraid of experimenting with new teaching methods, so that we always get the most out of the student’s potential and he or she will be able to develop in their own unique way, as every student is different.
