Über Lisa
I am a Vienna-based photographer and visual artist working across portraiture, photography, illustration, and moving image. With a MSc Digital Design & Photography, my practice combines a visual sensibility with an interest in people, identity, and the ways we represent ourselves through images.
My work focuses not only on technical aspects such as light, composition, and posing, but also on creating an atmosphere in which people can feel comfortable and genuinely themselves in front of the camera.
Through this workshop, I am sharing my practical approach to portrait photography, offering an accessible introduction to the fundamentals of a strong portrait alongside individual portfolio reviews and targeted feedback.
The aim is to help my students better understand their own photographic choices, recognise the strengths in their work, and develop concrete ideas for taking their portrait practice further.

What to expect:
Learn the basic formula behind a strong portrait — from composition and lighting to posing, expression, and creating a connection with your subject.
We’ll look at what makes a portrait work and how small changes can transform an image.
You’ll also receive a portfolio review and targeted feedback on your own work, with practical suggestions tailored to your style, strengths, and areas you’d like to develop.
You’ll leave with:
1) A clearer understanding of what makes a compelling portrait
2) Practical tips for improving your portrait sessions
3) Individual feedback on your portfolio
4) Concrete ideas for developing your photographic style and body of work
