Über Ralph
I've been passionate about physics and math since I was a child. I was a Gold medallist at the International Astronomy Olympiad 2005 in Beijing, completed my undergraduate degree in Physics at IIT Bombay (India) and then my PhD in theoretical Physics at Bristol University (United Kingdom).
I worked as a researcher and then lecturer for 10 years, first at the University of Geneva, then at ETH Zurich, where I lectured postgraduate students on advanced topics in quantum information theory.
During my career I was frequently invited to teach students, thanks to a reputation for a clear style of presenting topics, focused on simple examples, breaking down a complex topic into its smallest easy-to-understand parts.
I have experience teaching maths and physics all the way from high school to university level.

A physics equation is not just a tool, it's a way of thinking about the world around us. I teach to share that curiosity and excitement.
My method: teach through 1) fundamentals and 2) the simplest possible examples. I use visualisation as much as possible, especially for topics like mechanics and geometry.
I begin by understanding where the student currently is --- how they understand the topic, so that a lesson is tailored to their specific needs.
