Über Lian
My name is Lian, I am a native English speaker from Canada and the United States. I have a Bachelor's Degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. I love language learning and myself have spent many years in the classroom learning Chinese, Spanish, and now German. As a language student myself, I understand the needs of a language learner intimately. In January 2024, I earned my 120-hour Advanced TESOL Certification from OnTESOL. Since then, I have worked as an ESL teacher in Taipei, Taiwan and privately tutored over 20 students both in-person and online. I have retained students for 7+ months and love making genuine connections with my students.

Hello! My name is Lian and I am a native English speaker with 1+ years of experience in private English tutoring with children (elementary and high school) and adults both online and in-person. My teaching method is topic-based. I specialize in conversational English, building vocabulary and grammar together in a way that is conversational and structured. Together, the student and I pick 3-4 relevant topics (shopping, food, transportation, money, home, etc.) that fit the needs of the student. Then I prepare and provide online lesson materials for 60 minutes of active learning, incorporating vocabulary and exercises based on English level A0 - C2. I started my teaching journey in Taipei, Taiwan, where I privately tutored over 20 students and worked as an English teacher in the classroom.
