Über Laura
Hi there, nice to e-meet you! I’m Laura (28), originally from California, USA; I currently live in Berlin (Kreuzberg) and love it here. I am caring, caring, open-minded, thoughtful, and most of all, "sympathisch." If you are open to learning more about me and how I could support you in your English learning journey, don't hesitate to reach out! :-) I love connecting with people from all over the world and learning about others' lived experiences. It is very rewarding to support others and witness the learning in your students; I love seeing my students feel proud of themselves, especially children. I have been teaching English to kids for years, mainly through play. I also speak German and Spanish. I grew up in San Diego, California and have my Bachelor's & Master's degrees from UC Berkeley. After living in the San Francisco Bay Area for five years, I moved to Berlin in 2019. I have 5+ years of professional experience working in English at Bayer, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and Ada Health. I specialize in health research and scientific communications, so I would be happy to support people with academic or research writing at higher levels. We will begin by getting to know each other; then, we can assess your learning goals, your strengths, and potential areas for improvement. Our relationship and rapport will serve as a foundation of trust; I will encourage your confidence in English by supporting you as much as I can! As we get to know each other more, I can tailor my lesson plans further to your particular level, including topics I think you, personally, would find interesting and intellectually stimulating. Generally, each lesson will always include vocabulary, grammar, and fun exercises aimed at specific learning objectives.
