Über Thiago
Hi, I’m Thiago, a brazilian musician and music teacher based in Berlin. Having graduated in Music Education and working as a professional musician for the past 13 years, I have experience in teaching all ages and backgrounds. My approach is based on creativity, improvisation, and student autonomy. Having picked up the guitar at age 10 and never been able to put it down, I love helping others to discover this wonderful instrument.

My main instrument is the Guitar (acoustic or electric). But if you play other instruments or sing and want to learn more about music theory, perception, composition or improvisation I can help you as well.
The lessons are 1 hour long personalized classes. They are prepared beforehand aiming at the student's needs and desires. They can be taken in person in Berlin or remotely through Zoom Platform in English or Portuguese. I teach the following instruments/subjects:
Guitar;
Music Theory and Perception;
Music Composition;
Improvisation;
Musicalization for Children;
Guitar: My guitar lessons are aimed for all backgrounds, levels and ages. I have years of experience playing professionally with Psychedelic Rock, Country, Blues and Blues bands. If you are into that kind of music, I have tons of repertoire tips and techniques to improve your playing. I also come from Brazil and am connected with Brazilian music styles such as samba and bossa nova.
Music Theory and Perception: In these classes you can learn how to read music, identify musical structures by ear - such as intervals, chords and arpeggios and develop your harmonic, melodic and rhythmic sense.
Music Composition: Composition classes are aimed at developing ways to express yourself with music. We do that by building musical references catalogs and learning tools of musical analysis to create methods and tools for musical composition for any style.
Improvisation: My whole approach is highly supported by improvisation. I see it as a way of developing all of the abilities required to begin your path to master most (if not all) of the musical subjects. In these classes we find ways to develop your improvisation with exercises and music games.
Musicalization for Children: These are classes for children aged 4 - 10. Their goal is to introduce music in the early ages by developing taste, basic motor coordination and music hearing through a fun and creative approach, completely focused on the child’s creation and expression.
