Über David
Hi! I'm David (or Dave!), a native English speaker from Dublin, Ireland. I moved to Vienna with my family in early 2024. Despite what you may have heard, not everyone in Ireland has red hair, drinks Guinness all day or keeps a leprechaun in the garden... If you're curious about what's actually true, you'll just have to book a lesson!!
Before moving to Austria, I completed my TEFL certification, and I now work part-time in a German-speaking kindergarten, where I'm the English speaker introducing children to the language through fun activities and everyday conversation. I also teach private students of different ages and abilities.
The biggest step in learning a language is having the confidence to use it. I promise I won't judge your English... as long as you don't judge my German! My goal is for every lesson to leave you feeling just a little more confident than when you arrived.

Every lesson is tailored to you, whether you're a complete beginner, looking for extra help with school English, or simply want to become more confident speaking in everyday situations.
I currently work with a variety of private students, from young children taking their first steps in English through games and conversation, to school-age children and adults looking to improve their confidence and communication skills.
Lessons can focus on speaking, listening, reading, writing or grammar—or a mixture of everything! If there's something specific you'd like to work on, just let me know and I'll build the lesson around your goals and interests.
As a TEFL-certified native English speaker, my aim is to make every lesson relaxed, enjoyable and practical. There are no silly questions and no pressure to be perfect—just a friendly environment where you can learn at your own pace and build your confidence.
I currently offer online lessons (€35) or in-person lessons at your home within Vienna (€60).

Perfekt! He works very meticulously, is extremely patient, and always prepares his own materials and exercises. He managed to encourage a young girl to speak English with joy. This was the biggest effect, in addition to all the new vocabulary, writing, and grammar skills.

Perfekt! David is a, very nice, polite, and funny Teacher. It wad a pleasure speaking and learning English with him. He explains words I didn't understand in simple terms or paraphrased them. He really helped me a lot. Thanks to David, I passed my English exam. I highly recommend David.

Over a number of lessons we discussed everyday things, and also went through a few interview questions to try and prepare her for a potential interview in English that she was nervous about!

Lesson Details:
• Online lessons: €35 per hour.
• In-person lessons: €60 per hour within Vienna (includes travel).
• 'First lesson free' (Superprof): I use this free 30-minute session as an introductory phone or video call rather than a teaching lesson. It's an opportunity for us to get to know each other, discuss your goals, answer any questions, and make sure we're the right fit before booking lessons. (This introductory session is online only.)
• Personalised lessons: Every lesson is tailored to your individual goals, level and learning style, whether you're a complete beginner, a young learner or simply looking to become more confident speaking English.
