Über Alejandro
I bring a strong academic background combined with tutoring experience and a clear focus on results. I am an IB alumnus (40 points, Biology HL, Chemistry HL, and Maths HL).
I hold a BSc in Biochemistry and an MSc in Systems and Synthetic Biology from Imperial College London, and a PhD in Biotechnology at the University of Manchester. I have recently moved to Vienna. I am actively looking for an academic position and to work part-time as a tutor.
With a consistently strong academic track record, I have developed a deep understanding of how to approach exams strategically. I teach students not only the content, but also how to think, structure answers, and perform under exam conditions, skills that are essential for achieving top results.

My aim as a teacher is to spark a genuine interest in science, while maintaining a strong focus on exam performance. I believe that curiosity is the most powerful driver of learning, and I actively foster this by connecting theoretical concepts to real-world applications.
Drawing on my academic background, I regularly incorporate examples from current research to help students understand not just what they are learning, but why it matters. I also tailor examples to each student’s personal interests and hobbies, making lessons more engaging, relevant, and memorable.
Typical lesson structure : (i) A clear explanation of key concepts; (ii) guided practice with worked examples; (iii) application through exam-style questions; and (iv) targeted feedback and strategies to improve performance
I teach Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics at all school levels, and I offer both in-person lessons in Vienna and online sessions. I teach primarily in English, but I can also teach in Spanish.
