Über Hollie
I am originally from Australia and hold a Bachelor of Primary Education. I began my teaching career working with primary school and elementary students in Australia.
After gaining valuable experience, I moved abroad to teach in British international schools. I spent four years teaching in Beijing, China, followed by a teaching role at a British school in Bangkok, Thailand. Currently, I teach at an IB curriculum school in Vienna, Austria, where I continue to foster a passion for learning in diverse, international environments.
This global teaching experience, combined with my qualifications, has greatly enriched my approach to education, allowing me to connect with students from various backgrounds.

In a class, we will first discuss your goals and needs and then I will do some pre-assessment to help me determine your level and how we can best achieve your goals. Below are some areas I can focus on, however I am trained to teach ages 3-12 and am therefore able to adjust accordingly.
My Focus Areas:
Phonics: Teaching phonics with a clear, sequential scope and sequence based on best practices. This includes:
-Letter-sound relationships
-Blending sounds to read words
-Segmenting words for spelling
-Building fluency in reading and writing
Speaking and Listening: Encouraging verbal communication skills and active listening through:
-Conversational activities
-Storytelling and role play
-Vocabulary expansion and comprehension
Written Work: Teaching the fundamentals of writing, including:
-Letter formation and handwriting
-Sentence construction
-Basic punctuation and grammar
-Creative writing and story composition
Depending on the learner and age group, we will use a variety of approaches to make learning enjoyable and effective. This can include games, music, songs, physical movement, or even interactive PowerPoints to keep the lessons dynamic and engaging. My goal is to make learning a positive experience, where children are excited to engage and retain new information in a playful, supportive atmosphere.
