Über Wakana
Hello! こんにちは！
I'm a native Japanese speaker from Tokyo and a certified Japanese teacher, based in Vienna. Before teaching, I spent five years working as a nurse in Japan,
I've been teaching Japanese for 3 years now, and somewhere along the way I've taught over 200 students and 2,500+ lessons. I still think about that nursing instinct a lot when I teach, trying to catch where someone's actually stuck, not just where they tell me they are.
I don't really believe in teaching grammar as a pile of rules to memorize. I'd rather explain why something is said a certain way in Japanese, because once that clicks, the rest tends to follow. Im also learning German myself right now, so I'm very familiar with the "why is this so hard" feeling from the other side.

・You get a vocab list before each lesson, so the words aren't brand new when class starts
・We jump straight into using new grammar in conversation, since that's usually where it actually clicks
・A bit of homework afterward, just enough to keep it from fading before next time
Good fit if you've studied on your own and hit a wall, or want Japanese that actually works in conversation, not just textbook sentences. Lessons can also be shaped around against something specific, like an upcoming trip to Japan or the JLPT.
